Textbroker

August 5th 2008 01:29

I have done just three articles for Textbroker but they seem to be legitimate. The assignments vary greatly and some get snatched up very quickly but this is an easy way to make a few bucks when you don't have ideas for long articles for other sites.

Textbroker gives you a rating after you submit a sample that ranges from 2-4. If your rating is 2, you can only take assignments that require a 2 rating and so on. Apparently it takes about 10 high quality articles before your rating improves which is why I'm taking my time. I have a 3 rating but should probably be higher than that. I want to go through the system though so I can add to this review later on.

The assignments vary quite a bit. Some clients want simple testimonials about their business while others want serious informative content. You can only claim one assignment at a time but once you submit it, you can take another. This is actually pretty nice as people can't hog all the good stuff!

So far, I'd recommend them for those who want to dabble in the online jobs field just to get a feel for it. I've had no problems so far.

The link is here.

UPDATE: 8-9-08.

I really like Textbroker!! I got bumped up to 4 stars immediately and I find this site is a great way to just whip out some articles for a few extra bucks. They pay monthly but I intend to do articles here and there throughout the month. I'm already over the $20 mark for just a few articles that take me about 10 minutes each.

May I ask what your cancelation percentage is?

I have had 2 articles accepted (2 more pending) and just curious as to average time to be permanent.

Is it still going well?

Thanks for the info, Teresa

I love textbroker as well. I have a job, but it doesn't even pay enough to pay all of my living expenses, and no one else is hiring. I've been doing textbroker for 1 week, and I'm at $147.00.

They do require you to send a W-9 is you make over $200, but I've heard other people have had success with textbroker and they actually pay, so I'm hoping to be able to at least fill in the missing half of my income...and so far, I'm on track.

It does get boring after a while though...unless you find something really good.

Oh, and...about the person asking how long it takes for them to be permanent....3 days.

Most of my articles get accepted within 1 day, but textbroker says that the client has 3 days to either accept or reject an article. If the client does not accept the article within the 3 days limit, it is assumed to be accepted, and payment is forwarded to the writer.

If the client rejects the article, they must first request a revision. I've had 3 articles requested for revision (usually for trivial things, such as forgetting a keyword), and all of them were accepted immediatly afterwards

The writer has 1 day to revise, or else the article is rejected. The client can request multiple revisions.

Once an article is accepted by the client, it is permanent and the writer will receive payment for it unless it violates any of textbroker's content rules (plagiarized, pornographic, terrible grammar, etc).

After the article is accepted, textbroker rates it. I've written like 50 articles in the past week and only 1 of them has been rated by textbroker, so I guess that process is extremely slow.
